Our team is involved in a broad range of volunteer projects. We gravitate toward the organizations that are closest to our families and our interests. Many of us were students at local universities and colleges and we made contact with a wide range of community organizations then. And as parents and spouses we get involved with our children, our friends and our neighbors.

Kelley, VP HR Services, Volunteer with Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry: “We had been talking for a long time that we wanted to do some type of volunteer work to try to get our daughter involved. We have a very strong love for food and cooking, so we wanted to do something with food.

My husband found this program called Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry and started the Lehigh Valley chapter of the group in June. The group takes donations of deer, live stock, elk and other meat and works with butchers to get it processed and then distributed to local organizations. Meat in general isn’t something that is readily available in food banks and food pantries. We are working with one group right now that gives groceries to 110 families in need.”

“The initial focus was on fundraising. We are working together as a family. My daughter helps at events. I’ll help getting a Facebook page set up. We have a lot of work to do to spread the word.”
