Working full time doesn’t mean working around the clock. The 40-hour work week gives us the time to be volunteers while maintaining a professional career.

Dana, HR Manager and Volunteer at Victory House: “My husband drives the van in the winter and picks up the homeless and brings them somewhere to sleep Friday to Saturday, and Saturday to Sunday. We try to be very involved and have our children be very involved where it is safe and good for them to be so it becomes part of their experience growing up.

“We are very involved with our church in terms of outreach in the community. We have a service that is newly established on Saturday evening with music and food. I am doing the food. This past weekend there were 400 people because of the Christmas concert. I wasn’t able to do those things working full-time as an HR manager in a hospital network working 24/7 and around the clock. This is a very different experience.”
