myHR Partner Quoted throughout PopSugar Article on Breastfeeding Accommodations at Work

myHR Partner Team myHR Partner Team Mar 11, 2024

myHR Partner® team member, Stephanie Reitz, MBA-HRM, SHRM-SCP, was quoted throughout a PopSugar article discussing how to advocate for lactation accommodations at work and what to do if you're not getting what you need.

Despite multiple federal laws and many state-specific regulations in place covering breastfeeding support in the workplace, discussing your lactation accommodations at work is not always comfortable and easy.  Perhaps your employer hasn't recently had a breastfeeding employee return to work, or they may not be up to date on exactly what they're supposed to do.

Stephanie Reitz shares her advice for new mothers on how to approach discussing your needs, when to start the conversation (hint...it may be earlier than you think), how to handle pushback, and what to do if you're not getting what you need.
