An exclusive and prestigious list of only 100 finalist companies was generated through an application process that started in March of this year. Once a company was registered, a survey was administered to both employees and employers at companies across the commonwealth. Winners were chosen based on the highest combined scores in a two-fold evaluation: a review of a company’s workforce policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics (about 25% of the score), along with the results of an employee survey measuring employee satisfaction (about 75% of the score).
The myHR Partner workplace has an assortment of unique benefits and perks including a strict maximum 40-hour work week, quarterly profit sharing, up to 20 hours a year of paid training, quarterly events (in person and virtual), employee appreciation activities and celebrations, an allocation to decorate one’s office space, an annual donation to a charity of the employee’s choice and many more. Using a formula similar to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America,” the Best Companies Group surveys and scores each workplace gives each candidate an overall score. Eligible companies had to be a for-profit or non-profit business, be publicly or privately held, have a business facility in Pennsylvania, employ at least 15 people working in Pennsylvania and be in business for at least one year.
Businesses ranked according to their score and size — small (15-99 employees), medium (100-249) and large (250+) were recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in PA awards celebration which was held live on stage with guests joining virtually on Thurs., Dec. 2. The final rankings are also posted at CPBJ.com, LVB.com, and published in a special section inserted in Central Penn Business Journal, Lehigh Valley Business and mailed to all winning organizations.
